Weeding is an essential part of the item lifecycle. It is easy to design Alma workflows for weeding hundreds of items, but what about hundreds of thousands of items? During this session, we will look at the software applications and workflows developed by the University at Buffalo as part of their mass weeding project. We will specifically address the context of the mass weeding project, selecting material for deaccession, workflows for student employees and staff, and the development of API-driven applications to assist with weeding on this scale.
At the end of this session, attendees will understand how to perform mass weeding of material in Alma.
At the end of this session, attendees will have an awareness of new tools to aid in their mass weeding projects.
