Session Abstract

Since Alma and Primo support anything a library does with bibliographic data, wouldn't it make sense that they can support the creation, management, and publication of an abstracting and indexing database? We thought so! Learn how we migrated Art and Archaeology Technical Abstracts (AATA) Online, a community-edited database dating back to 1932 containing abstracts of literature related to the preservation and conservation of material cultural heritage, to Alma and Primo. We'll discuss how we mapped the data and publication workflows to Alma and Primo, and how we've begun leveraging normalization rules, Cloud Apps, and OAI-PMH, as well as our wishlist for the future.

Learning Outcome #1

At the end of this session, people will be able to devise out-of-the-box data management applications of Alma and Primo based on our example.
