Tuesday, September 12, 2023 at 3:30 PM–4:00 PM CEST add to calendar
Room AV 00.17
Session Abstract

The ALMA/PRIMO VE Implementation Project at RCSI Bahrain library aimed to modernize the system, improve services, and develop a new portal. This article discusses the project's phases, best practices, and strategies for implementing an integrated ILS with a small team. It covers key events like data cleanup, forms, integrations, testing, cutover, and issue resolution. Despite challenges, the migration to ALMA with digital content abilities was successfully completed by Jan 31, 2023. Staff training, integrations with external systems, and the use of ALMA and Primo improved efficiency, resource discovery, and performance tracking. The project's success factors included planning, vendor relationships, training, testing, and the team's motivation within the fast timeline.
