How can we become counselors where teachers, students, and staff feel the freedom to utilize us not only in times of crisis but also feel encouraged to approach their counselors with everyday questions and concerns? Using data, valuable methods on how to create and implement an effective open-door policy will be examined. Additionally, valuable open-door strategies that promote transparency, foster strong communication, and increase visibility resulting in a stronger counseling program will be discussed.
