Abstract
The purpose of this training is to equip school counselors with the knowledge, skills, and tools necessary to provide early and impactful advocacy for children in foster care, especially those at risk of long-term exclusionary discipline.  This session will give an overview of the school disciplinary process, its impact on youth in care, and early intervention tools and resources such as the trauma impact rule, special education advocacy, and behavioral health services.
