Abstract

Black men are rare commodities in both the educational field and counseling profession across levels. Although they are uniquely positioned to serve kids of color, they are often positioned in ways that threaten their very existence. Black male school counselors are an endangered species. This presentation isn’t just social justice and advocacy work, it is an attempt to preserve the lives of black male school counselors and the lives of kids who look like them.
