Advocacy
There has been growing recognition of the power differentials in student advocacy. While some students have access to resources and support that enable them to advocate for their needs effectively, others may not have the same advantages. Due to systemic biases and discrimination, students from marginalized backgrounds may face unique challenges in advocating for themselves. This presentation explores these power dynamics and provides practical strategies for counselors to bridge the communication between teachers and students.
