Abstract
Black students with disabilities face barriers in preK-12 school years. Their parents/guardians witness their child receiving punitive school discipline, bias from educators, and non-inclusive postsecondary planning. School counselors are often unaware of these challenges.
Seldom-heard accounts centering Black parents’ experiences with their child’s postsecondary planning will provide session attendees with knowledge of how educators can better collaborate with Black parents of youth with disabilities to provide more equitable and inclusive opportunities.
