Abstract
Psyhcho-educational small groups are an effective way to help students in their academic and social/emotional development. In this session, participants will overview a unit of 6 group lessons that target students' academic readiness skills, and topics include goal setting, time management, learning styles, and self-advocacy. Each lesson incorporates creative activities that facilitate students' attainment of identified ASCA student standards and learning objectives. Activities include kinetic drawings, phototherapy, movement, use of props, and role-playing.
