Regarding CEUs, please note: NCTRC CE Pre-approval will be pending; all sessions may not have been approved by NCTRC. We will post an update when approval for sessions has been received and sessions appropriate for specialty certification as identified by NCTRC.

Biographical Information

Liz Jameson is the Exercise Therapist at Crittenton Children's Center. She developed a trauma-informed exercise protocol for Crittenton and implements it daily with the adolescent patients she serves. Prior to becoming a CTRS, Liz worked in the fitness industry as a personal trainer and group fitness instructor for several years. She has previously developed and presented on exercise protocols for anxiety disorders. Her professional focus is providing education and increasing awareness about exercise benefits for mental health, methods for reducing perceived and real barriers to life-long exercise, and empowering patients through movement. Liz has a Master's in Therapeutic Recreation from Northwest Missouri State University and is a National Academy of Sports Medicine certified personal trainer, corrective exercise specialist, and behavior change specialist.

Biographical Information

Michelle Bateman serves as an instructor at Northwest Missouri State University, specializing in therapeutic recreation within the online graduate program. With a Ph.D. earned from Oklahoma State University, she brings extensive experience to her role. Michelle's background encompasses clinical work in inpatient psychiatric and physical rehabilitation settings. Her research focuses on diverse populations, including older adults, individuals with special needs, and military veterans. As the graduate coordinator for the therapeutic recreation program, Michelle plays a crucial role in shaping future professionals in the field. Her dedication to advancing therapeutic recreation is evident, making her a valuable asset to her students and the academic community alike.
