Biographical Information
Dr. Heather Porter is a professor in the recreational therapy (RT) program at Temple University, a fellow in the National Academy of Recreational Therapists, and the owner of RecThera. Her area of specialization is inpatient and outpatient physical rehabilitation. She created and organizes the annual RT Evidence-Based Practice Conference at Temple University and created and maintains RT Wise Owls (rtwiseowls.temple.edu) to disseminate RT-related research and evidence-based practice information. She's the author of multiple RT textbooks and most recently wrote 'Nature Walking for Wellness: Activities and Assessments for a Healthier You' - a workbook style publication for the general public and RT clients to promote the healing power of nature.
