The following is the TENTATIVE program and schedule for the 2024 ATRA Annual Conference in Kansas City, MO. Presentations, times and other details are subject to change between now and the start of the conference in October.

Regarding CEUs, please note: NCTRC CE Pre-approval will be pending; all sessions may not have been approved by NCTRC. We will post an update when approval for sessions has been received and sessions appropriate for specialty certification as identified by NCTRC.

Biographical Information

Ashley has been a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist for 4 years and a Certified Child Life Specialist for 3 years. My experiences include previously working in an independent living memory care unit and I currently am employed at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) for the past three years. Ashley started her career working on the Medical Behavior Unit for a year and a half working with behavioral health patients who present with a medical complexity. Ashley currently resides on the Rehabilitation Unit for the past year and a half. Ashley provides a variety of interventions to a diverse population of patients, a few examples being traumatic brain injuries, disorders of consciousness, oncologic, and orthopedic injuries. Some examples of these interventions include group programming, individual play sessions; both therapeutic and normalizing, and diagnosis education.

Biographical Information

Elizabeth Olsen has been a Certified Child Life Specialist for almost 20 years. Her previous experiences in healthcare include working in the Newborn Intensive Care Unit at the Morgan Stanley Children’s Hospital of NY Presbyterian and Good Shepherd Hospice in Long Island. She has been working at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) for the past 7 years and began her career there in the Special Delivery Unit. Elizabeth has been working with SSD Dilly, CHOP’s first Facility Dog, hospital wide for the last four years and became the Facility Dog Program Coordinator in October 2023. In her new role, Elizabeth completed a certification in Service and Therapy Dog Training Professional.
