School counselors are often asked to support attendance especially since attendance affects a school’s CCRPI score.  Attendance incentives and programs can be challenging in elementary settings because it is often tied to perceptions and practices from parents and caregivers.  COVID-19 has also impacted attendance across all levels with schools reporting widespread attendance issues that they did not have before the pandemic. Learn how an elementary school decreased chronic absenteeism by 30% in one year.
