Session Summary

Mindfulness practice is an evidence-based SEL intervention that can be used at the elementary level to promote student skills of emotional flexibility, empathy, decision-making, increased attention and focus while reducing emotional reactivity, stress, anxiety and depression. This presentation will discuss the research and resources for evidence-based mindfulness interventions as well as ways to connect with the school community, school families, administration and teachers at Title 1 schools to provide support for integrative mindfulness practice.
