Jamie Sympson is a graduate of the University of Toledo and holds a bachelor’s degree in Recreational Therapy. Jamie has received her specialization designation in Behavioral Health for her field as of 2021. Jamie has worked at Nationwide Children’s Hospital (NCH) for 7 years in behavioral health and chronic pain settings. Jamie currently works as the Clinical Leader for Clinical Therapies Behavioral Health located at NCH in which she directly supervises Occupational Therapy (OT), Speech Language Pathology (SLP) and Therapeutic Recreation (TR) team members. Jamie directly manages team members and supports program development within the inpatient pediatric behavioral health units, the Child and Adolescent Partial Hospitalization Program, and the Intensive Pain Rehabilitation and Education Program (IPREP). Jamie has served as a HUB member for the NCH Pediatric Pain Extension for Community Healthcare Outcomes (ECHO) for the last two years supporting a virtual learning network for medical providers and other allied disciplines that provide education to patients and/or caregivers about comprehensive treatment for pain management. Lastly, Jamie is a member of the Ohio Recreation Therapy Association (ORTA) and the American Therapeutic Recreation Association (ATRA).
