Biographical Information

Raine McAngus, an undergraduate research student at Arizona State University, is a dedicated leader driving systemic changes in healthcare through cross-sectoral collaboration. Pursuing bachelor's degrees in Nonprofit Leadership and Management and Public Service-Public Policy, he has transitioned from pre-medical studies to advocate for sustainable change and community capacity-building. Raine designs innovative programs to develop empathetic leaders, fostering collaboration for accessible solutions. As President of the Nonprofit Leadership Alliance Student Association, he leads projects to develop a diverse workforce for the nonprofit sector. He volunteers with the Next Generation Service Corps, addressing healthcare accessibility. As the Youth Director of the Valley of The Sun YMCA Metro Board, Raine supports program development. As an Undergraduate Research Assistant, he examines diverse experiences through parks and recreation and the activation of community-based programming. Raine exemplifies ASU's commitment to inclusivity, innovation, and community impact, driving positive change and inspiring future leaders.

Christina J. Coleman, PhD is an Assistant Teaching Professor at Arizona State University's School of Community Resources and Development, embodying ASU's dedication to inclusivity, innovation, and community impact. With 13 years of experience in the mental health sector, Christina integrates innovative therapeutic approaches to enhance individual well-being. Her research focuses on community-based leisure education and engagement, emphasizing social participation's benefits in health domains. Through teaching and mentorship, she inspires future practitioners, enriching lives and advancing the field of Recreational Therapy. Beyond academia, Christina finds balance in baking, outdoor exploration, and creative outlets, reflecting her commitment to personal fulfillment and professional excellence.
