Biographical Information

Kirstin Whitely, DHA, CTRS is an Associate Professor of Therapeutic Recreation and Therapeutic Activities Minor Coordinator at Longwood University in Farmville, VA. Prior to joining academia, she gained 12 years clinical experience in acute, residential and 28-day inpatient psychiatric treatment focusing on trauma and substance use. Currently, Kirstin's focus is on researching, developing, and implementing high quality RT/TR curriculum. Other research interests include improving mental health for young adults and advancement of the profession.

Biographical Information

Faith Moss, CTRS graduated with a bachelors of therapeutic recreation from Longwood University in 2021. Faith started a consulting business providing services for individuals on the Virginia Medicaid Waiver, who she has been serving for over two years. She has worked with several populations including veterans with TBI, adolescent inpatient behavioral health, and adults with intellectual/developmental disabilities. Faith’s passion to provide community-based services for individuals ID/DD/TBI was the genesis of the RT/TR Indirect Service Framework and has led her to pursue a master’s in applied behavioral analysis. In her leisure, she enjoys pickleball, reading, and sewing.
