Session Description
Gender expectations and the balance of working while starting/having a family, can make parenting challenging. There is a belief that perhaps you must lose one identity in order to gain another. This is especially true for parents in the field of international admissions/recruitment. With career and parental expectations ever changing, this topic is relevant to parents or those entertaining parenthood at all stages of their career. The goal of this session is to open a conversation about maintaining both parental and professional identities, navigating feelings of guilt and societal pressures, and connecting with other parents in the field who struggle or have overcome these hurdles.
