What’s the Point? Understanding How “The Other Side” Thinks

Wednesday, July 16, 2025 at 11:00 AM–12:15 PM EDT
SH 335
Session Description

Why do universities ask students to self-report grades when schools send transcripts? Why do counselors choose not to disclose class rank? What do schools wish universities knew and vice versa? In the ever-evolving world of college admissions, this panel will address - and hopefully demystify - why the ‘other side of the desk’ does things the way they do. By better understanding how our counterparts work and think, we can provide more comprehensive support for students and remind ourselves that we are actually all on the same side of ensuring students land at their best fit institutions. Expect a frank discussion among the panelists - and the audience - to help everyone be stronger together!
