Empowered Planning: Putting Students in the Driver’s Seat of Their Future
Session Description
In this session, we will share a student-centered approach which puts students in charge of their post-high school planning. The Sophomore Seminar is dedicated to helping students make a more informed decision regarding their course selection in G11 whereas the Junior Seminar focuses more on university research. At the end of each session, students are responsible for completing 2-4 slides with each seminar culminating in a Student-Led Conference where students present their plans to their counselor and parents/caregivers. Join us as we dive into the details of this approach, explore its benefits for students, parents/caregivers, and counselors, and provide you with ready-to-use resources to implement at your own school.
