Collaborating for Access: Expanding College Counseling in National Curriculum Schools Worldwide

mercredi 16 juillet 2025 à 11:00–12:15 EDT
RI 458
Session Description

Many national-curriculum (state) schools worldwide lack dedicated college counseling services. This limits students' ability to navigate complex higher education pathways, particularly in competitive international contexts. As a result, many capable students cannot access their best HE options, while universities miss out on great potential students. In this session we will share case studies highlighting innovative models of IEC-state school collaboration that aim to bridge this gap, showcasing strategies to build trust, tailor programs, and address resource challenges, followed by facilitated group discussions to encourage knowledge sharing.

It is relevant for admissions reps wishing to reach the untapped potential in state schools globally; high schools looking to elevate their guidance programme; and individual members who want to look into collaborating with schools. With experience from all sides of the table (university, school, IEC), we will show how, working together, we can support even more students.
