From Four to One: Merging Distinct Academic Libraries with Alma & Primo
Event part
Conference
Abstract
In our presentation we will share our journey of unifying four geographically separated academic libraries, each with its own Aleph catalog, into a single, centralized system using Alma and Primo.
We'll share our workflow methodology, highlighting the strategic planning, data migration challenges, and staff training involved. The consolidation has yielded significant benefits: improved discovery experience, streamlined operations, enhanced asset sharing, and effective resource management.
The efficient collaborative process with the Ex Libris professional team was instrumental in making the transition of this complex project smooth and successful, while knowledge and best practices shared by colleagues in the Ex Libris user community further enhanced our implementation approach.
Join us to learn valuable insights for institutions considering similar consolidation efforts.
