MELI's Journey (2005–2025): Reflecting on Two Decades and Looking Ahead to the Future
Event part
Conference
Abstract
As IGeLU celebrates 20 years of community, MELI (Israel's Ex Libris Users Group) reflects on its two-decade journey, evolving into a dynamic community. MELI has become a well-organized group with dedicated working groups for Alma, Primo, and Electronic Resources, and actively contributes to IGeLU working groups.
MELI has addressed the needs of Israeli libraries, fostering connections among librarians. It has contributed to improving Hebrew and Arabic within Ex Libris products and supported professional growth through initiatives such as the MELI@10 webinar series and an annual conference.
During times of crisis, including the COVID-19 pandemic and recent regional challenges, MELI has helped librarians adapt to change, stay connected, and continue collaborating despite difficulties.
By sharing MELI's story, we aim to offer insights into the experience of a national user group within the broader IGeLU community. We've certainly learned a lot (20 years' worth!). Here's to the next 20!
