Unifying Knowledge and Breaking Down Silos: Enhancing Access to Professional Insights
Event part
Conference
Abstract
This session will highlight the benefits of synthesizing dispersed information across various Ex Libris & community platforms. Unifying data across channels, such as product documentation, Ideas Exchange, and publicly available presentations/articles, can create a more transparent, inclusive, and informed engagement opportunity for librarians.
We will illustrate these ideas using an AI-powered tool—currently a prototype in development—that queries public knowledge using Retrieval-Augmented Generation and OpenAI API to consolidate valuable product and community knowledge with library workflows, while maintaining strict privacy and allowing flexibility and creativity in our everyday tasks.
Join us for an open dialogue on actionable strategies to enhance knowledge sharing, identify priorities, and create a more interconnected and efficient environment for our collective expertise.
