Session Summary
This session focuses on the need for school counselors to work on building relationships with students before trying to correct a student's behavior or respond to a crisis. Building strong relationships with students first can allow school counselors to support students and step in effectively when they are having a tough time. Participants will learn evidence-based practices and practical tools to build better connections with their students and support their social, emotional, and mental well-being.
