Session Summary
This session explores strategies to strengthen the development of male counseling students' professional identities. This presentation highlights the unique challenges male students face in a female-dominated field and discusses how intentional supervision practices by university faculty and site supervisors can foster confidence, competence, and belonging. Through case examples, the session emphasizes the critical role of mentorship, reflective practices, and the development of culturally responsive supervision in supporting male counselors’ growth as they rule their experiences.
