Alma, Next-gen library systems

• By the end of this session, users should be able to understand the ways in which Alma’s license manager:
• The way that Alma’s license manager interrelates with both order and bibliographic record data
• Can facilitate library-wide workflows surrounding licensing limitations on electronic resources, such as interlibrary loan and course reserves.
• Can facilitate workflows within the acquisitions department surrounding licensing limitations on electronic resources, such as perpetual access and cancellation requirements.
• The limitations on what the module can and cannot do regarding documentation of license terms and public display

Boston College has completed a retroactive licensing project to integrate its licensing data into its next generation system.  Completion of this project has led to improved workflows for the interlibrary loan and course reserves departments, as well as improved knowledge management within the department maintaining the license data, RAM.
