Session Summary
This session explores how imposter syndrome and self-doubt erode students’ sense of worth, particularly when they face low self-esteem and internalized barriers. This session asks: Is self-worth shaped by how others see us? Does a thorn stop a rose from being a rose? Drawing on the science of hope, which emphasizes clear goals, pathways, and agency — and using data-driven interventions, we will explore how counselors can help students strengthen resilience, develop GRIT, and challenge the belief that “I am not enough.” By combining insights from student data with evidence-based practices, we can help students understand the powerful link between self-perception, motivation, and success. Attendees will leave with practical strategies and tools to help students build resilience reservoirs, enhance self-efficacy, and ultimately find and amplify their authentic voice.
