P120 Financial Voice as Consumer Power: Facilitated Dialogue for Economic Dignity

Tuesday, April 14, 2026 at 5:30 PM–6:30 PM PDT
Room 6 Posters
Short Description

This session explores how informed facilitation and narrative authorship can empower consumers navigating financial trauma, labor exploitation, and systemic neglect. Led by El Cameron, an independent facilitator and strategic consultant, the presentation introduces a framework called “Facilitated Dialogue for Economic Dignity,” which uses storytelling as a tool for financial empowerment and policy engagement. Drawing from qualitative data and real-world examples, El demonstrates how structured dialogue can disrupt cycles of shame and silence, enhance consumer agency, and inform inclusive financial education. Attendees will learn how emotional safety, authorship integrity, and reflective practice can strengthen consumer decision-making and advocacy. This session offers practical strategies for educators, financial coaches, and policymakers seeking to center dignity and systemic clarity in their work.
