This highly interactive workshop introduces the Power Tools for Neuroplasticity model as a structured therapeutic recreation framework for building connection, belonging, self-regulation, and behavioral change through experiential learning and neuroplasticity-informed practice. Grounded in neuroplasticity, social learning theory, and trauma-informed care, the session prioritizes hands on application and real-world implementation. Participants will engage in structured experiential activities and collaborative practice opportunities designed to prove how intentional repetition, feedback, and group process support learning and behavioral change. Each part of the model—including check-in, expectations, targeted behavior, activity facilitation, debriefing, self-evaluation, and feedback—is taught through demonstration and practiced in small-group application labs. Participants will design and facilitate their own “brain retraining scenarios” using realistic case examples and receive guided peer and facilitator feedback. Participants will leave with practical, “use Monday” tools including structured activity plans, neuroplasticity informed intervention strategies, and methods for integrating the model across clinical, educational, and community-based settings.
At the end of this session, participants will be able to: 1. Name at least three core components of the Power Tools Structured Neuroplasticity Model that promote connection and belonging. 2. Demonstrate how to implement one neuroplasticity-based intervention using a structured recreational therapy framework. 3. Develop a session plan incorporating skill repetition, group process, and feedback to support behavior change and participant engagement.
