Founded in 1971, Hong Kong Shue Yan University is the first private university that migrated its lLS to Alma in 2022 following its DSpace (2018) and AtoM (2021).The Library team leverages Alma to streamline the discovery and preservation of university history.

This presentation explores key initiatives:

• Research Resources: Initiating with researchers to collect the materials
• Unified Discovery: Implementing Primo VE, branded as Discover@ShueYan and as the University resources search center
• Digital Preservation: Using Alma Digital to safeguard the research assets
• Resources Integration: Merging the IR and Archives into Primo VE
• UX Optimization: Streamlining the journey from discovery to digital content

The presentation provides practical insights into unlocking Alma Digital’s potential as a research resource platform. We conclude by addressing the challenges of implementing these initiatives within a small academic library, offering lessons for libraries with similar resource profiles.
