Abstract

While the implementation of Linked Open Data (LOD) is no longer a novelty in the global library community, it poses unique challenges for institutions utilizing Traditional Chinese cataloging, where non-Latin-script materials predominate.

This presentation shares the localized LOD journey of National Taiwan University Library. Starting with transforming name authority files into linked data, we then enriched Wikidata entities into both bib and authority records. To break down language barriers, we adapted Bibcard and developed the "NTU Author Card." Furthermore, by participating in Share-VDE, we would like to explore an innovative discovery portal to visualize and re-envision our library catalog.

Moving forward, NTU Library aspires to become an active content provider for Wikidata, contributing local and multilingual expertise to the global linked data ecosystem from a fresh perspective.
