What does it take to modernize interlibrary loan services while creating a better experience for both library staff and users?
In this session, the University of Auckland will share its journey from a legacy interlibrary loan environment to Rapido, including the drivers for change, the implementation experience, and how the service has evolved since going live.
The presentation will explore the impact of the transition on workflows, staff mediation, and the user experience, as well as some of the challenges, surprises, and practical lessons encountered along the way. It will also look at how the move to Rapido has supported a more integrated approach to resource sharing and opened opportunities to rethink how interlibrary loan services are delivered.
Combining the University of Auckland’s first-hand experience with broader context on Rapido and its resource sharing community, the session will offer an open and practical perspective on modernising interlibrary loan services, what worked, what required adjustment, and what the team has learned along the way.
