Abstract

Everyone has the same cloud platform, but local service makes the difference. This is the key lesson from our work with Alma libraries in Taiwan. While Alma provides a global platform, each library has different users, collections, workflows, systems, and policies. Our role as a local partner is not only to implement the system, but to translate local needs into practical services.

In Taiwan, we support libraries through data cleanup and migration, system integration, identity management and SSO, off-campus access, API-based applications, and discovery service design. We help libraries decide what Alma can support directly, what requires integration, and what is better delivered through local solutions.

Our approach is: Global Platform -> Local Needs -> Integration -> Service Design -> Continuous Improvement. The goal is to build a sustainable Taiwan Alma ecosystem in which data, workflows, access, discovery, security, and user experience continue to evolve together.
