Conference
“Open Educational Resources (OER) can support quality education that is equitable, inclusive, open and participatory” (UNESCO, 2019). In this proposed session, panelists will discuss how they have effectively led OER implementation at their institutions while aligning with institutional and national policies. They will detail how Ex Libris products (Alma, Leganto, Primo) support the integration, curation, discovery, and delivery of OER, helping connect library course materials with teaching and learning. Panelists will share strategies for empowering faculty, embedding OER into reading lists and learning management systems, and measuring student financial impact. The discussion will also address challenges such as sustainability, copyright and open licensing knowledge, and content and language gaps affecting the Global South. By aligning Ex Libris systems with the UNESCO OER Framework, libraries can advance open education practices and expand access to digital public goods.
