Abstract

The meteoric rise of AI made a lot of dreams come true. Libraries' vast collections and huge amounts of accumulated data, nested and managed by Ex Libris Products, made them a fertile playground for experimenting with newborn AI Tools. All you need is to have an idea or to find solution for a challenge.

Our idea was to create comprehensive Patron Management Statistics, tracking changing patterns of library usage, to make more data-driven decisions in allocating our resources. Using Alma Analytics, we built a large pool of contextualized reports, integrated into Fulfillment Dashboard. Lots of data retrieved was illuminating but lacked integrity.

Power BI proved as a suitable platform for visual interactions between different types of data, giving us new insights and automation opportunities. This couldn't come true without a new player – Claude AI, used as a coding consultant and Dax Measures generator. The session will highlight major steps of the process, and final (for now) result.
