Abstract

Beit Berl Academic College is an influential teachers-training institution in Israel. It brings together Jewish and Arab — religious, ultra‑orthodox, and secular — on a shared campus. This diversity is embedded in the college's identity and its broader Education Hub, connecting kindergartens, schools, and the college.

Historically, the library system mirrored this with a Main Library (Hebrew/English materials) and a dedicated Arabic Library. In 2024, relocating the Main Library to a smaller building created an opportunity to merge the two libraries into one. This needed to happen within one year, during wartime. Other challenges included inconsistent cataloging, differing codes/workflows, staff language gaps, and time-sensitive collection downsizing.

Our session presents the solutions we found using Alma, Leganto, and Analytics, along with normalization rules, apps and simple AI tools. It is aimed at multilingual libraries, merging institutions, and Ex Libris users interested in bilingual workflows.
