Six months after Yale Libraries migrated to Alma, one small library faced unique challenges because it transitioned from Sierra while the rest of the libraries migrated from Voyager. To support this team, the project group facilitated a one-time feedback session six months post-migration, aimed at troubleshooting issues and helping staff clearly articulate what was and wasn’t working in their workflows.To guide the discussion, we used targeted project management techniques and interactive exercises. These included comparative analysis questions (what worked in Sierra vs. Alma) and the “Five Whys” method to uncover root causes. These approaches helped surface actionable insights and fostered a collaborative environment for addressing migration pain points.
