*Six Standards of Effective Pedagogy: Transforming Classrooms through Instructional Coaching and Collaboration
Session Abstract
The MATSOL Coaching Partnership was awarded the state contract to develop coursework for Literacy and Mathematics coaches serving content classrooms with ELLs. Participants will learn about these courses and the Six Standards of Effective Pedagogy that support content teachers to strengthen and deepen instruction for ELLs in daily practice. Dr. Serena Tyra will discuss the six standards coaching framework and promising achievement outcomes for ELLs. Participants will provide information to inform the creation of the Coach Network intended to support math, literacy, SEI, and ELL coaches and will be invited to participate in future Coach network activities. New opportunities to take the courses, generously sponsored by MA DESE, will be shared at the session.
