Web-based Voyager Reports for Selectors and Acquisitions Staff

Thursday, May 7, 2015 at 11:00 AM–11:45 AM CDT
Elk Lake
Description

This session presents a set of web applications developed for selectors and acquisitions staff in Hamilton Library at the University of Hawaii at Manoa.  By utilizing multiple Voyager reports dynamically created within the web pages, bibliographers and technical services staff were able to simplify and streamline the entire ordering process.  As the development platform, Apache/PHP/MySQL and other web technologies were chosen.

My presentation will focus on how to integrate Voyager and OCLC data into the in-house order submission system, MOSS, and how to utilize various Voyager reports for selectors and acquisitions staff in order to monitor the fund expenditures and the order status of materials being processed.

Also other web applications such as creating and sending purchase orders to vendors, comparing vendor performances, and etc. will be demonstrated.
