Friday, May 8, 2015 at 10:00 AM–10:45 AM CDT
St. Croix II
Description

Over the past year, nine university libraries have come together to begin to build the Ontario Library Research Cloud (OLRC), an OpenStack-based private cloud with nodes in Toronto, Guelph. Hamilton, Ottawa-Kingston, and Windsor. The Library at Waterloo is working closely with our long-standing Tri-University Group (TUG) partners at University of Guelph and Wilfrid Laurier University. This presentation will discuss the business case, timeline, technologies employed and anticipated uses for this triple-redundant, distributed, digital preservation storage and services platform that will grow with Ontario libraries as we continue to move to digital futures in terms of content and services.
