Location guide and text me a call number integration
Description
At Kansas State University Libraries we introduced two new features to Primo, ‘Integration with Location Guide’ and ‘Text Me a Call Number’. These features served our users in voyager catalog and there were requests to migrate the functionality to Primo. To preserve the integrity of Primo and ensure future maintainability the changes were done through modification of theme files without any impact to default Primo workflows.
Integration with Location Map allowed patrons to simply click a location on Primo and be taken to the location map with the exact location highlighted. With ‘Text Me a Call Number’ feature a patron could click on a call number and get prompted with a screen that would allow them to text the information to a mobile number.
