Using Google Analytics with Primo

Wednesday, May 6, 2015 at 3:45 PM–4:30 PM CDT
Lafayette Bay
Description

Almost all libraries already use Google Analytics to help them understand how patrons use their websites.  Employing Google Analytics with Primo can provide similar insight into user behavior and help libraries make evidence-based decisions about their discovery tools.  This session will explore the benefits of using Google Analytics with Primo and describe how the data provided by Google Analytics differs from and can be used alongside data from Primo's own usage reporting tools.  Through  a number of specific examples the session will detail the opportunities, challenges, and limitations of using Google Analytics with Primo, with an emphasis on implementing Event Tracking code to capture user interactions beyond page views and sessions.
