PubMed Publishing with LinkOut Local and Alma – a work in progress

Friday, May 8, 2015 at 11:15 AM–12:00 PM CDT

Description

LinkOut is the project to create links from NIH PubMed databases to external websites, linking to full-text articles via publisher websites. Using this link resolving tool can benefit your library by connecting users to your library’s content when they use PubMed to conduct research.

LinkOut Local is one of the three methods by which libraries can set up a link resolver with the NIH for full text access to PubMed resources.  Getting the tool to work requires some set up in both Alma and with PubMed.  During the setup process at NDSU, we discovered the process was not fully developed in Alma, and discovered solutions to make it work.  These solutions will be shared during the presentation, specifically focusing on the solutions for the NDSU implementation.
