Friday, May 8, 2015 at 10:00 AM–10:45 AM CDT
Birch Lake
Description

Authority control has long been thought of the methodology for providing cross-references, but in today's Internet and discovery envirionment, it serves many roles.  It helps to keep data consistent in our catalogs and search environments, aids discovery tools in performing relevance and relationship rankings, and in the future will serve as  a pathway to linking disparate data sources together from a single search environment to engender successful and efficient searches.
