Special Snowflakes: Hacking Alma and Primo to Enhance Discovery of Rare and Special Collections Resources

Thursday, May 7, 2015 at 4:20 PM–5:05 PM CDT
Wayzata Bay
Description

Webscale discovery systems are great for helping users discover a broad array of information resources, but they sometimes hide or mask the unique and copy-specific characteristics of special collections materials. The presenter will identify examples of problems encountered, and share strategies and techniques used at the University of Minnesota Libraries to help make special collections materials more discoverable and stand out from the crowd. The session will include an open forum section, where attendees are encouraged to bring their own ideas and suggestions.
