Hitting the Reading Wall: Identifying High School Struggling Readers

Session Abstract

Teachers at Newton North High School will share their action research on identifying struggling readers whose first language does not use an alphabet. The subjects are English learners at proficiency levels 3-5 whose first languages are Chinese, Korean and Japanese. Identification, assessments and interventions will be shared.
