Session Description

California State University San Marcos is globalizing their campus, examining enrollment data differently, and incorporating it into a strategic plan. The right mix of international students from different countries and cultures across academic majors can share perspectives to enrich curriculum and course discussion. It’s creating game-changing learning experiences across campus. Hear the steps that Cal State San Marcos has taken on the path to globalization. During this session participants will discuss both the strategic and tactical components involved in molding the culture shift including tips that can be implemented at any institution to walk down the path of globalization.

Brief Bio

Emmanuel (Meni) Sarris, a former Dean and Director of various institutions of higher education in Continuing Education, has been in CE for 16+ years at the university and community college level. Currently working with various institutions as a CE Consultant, Meni and his teams have won international and national recognition for excellence in programming and management, including his last role as Director of Continuing Education at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV). Meni has a bachelor’s degree in secondary education from Bradley University, a Master of Business Administration from Columbus State University, a Master of Education in adult and higher education from Northern Illinois University, and is currently ABD on his Doctorate of Education in adult and higher education from Northern Illinois University. His dissertation topic is “The use of humor by administrators in a higher education setting."
