Learning Objectives

Following this session, participants will be able to state the pros and cons of working with open source software.

Following this session, participants will be able to determine if open source is right for their library and how to choose between multiple open source alternatives.

Abstract

At the University of Texas at Tyler Libraries we went from relying on proprietary software to implementing an open source ILS, ERM, and IR in less than two years. We did this without extra staff, money, or time. We will share our experiences learning from our mistakes and the community.
