Chicago BIMForum - When Does Design End and Construction Begin?

This presentation will address the question “where does design end and construction begin?” from the perspective of a structural steel fabricator. It will illustrate the value of bringing together a project team, including specialty contractors, early in the schedule as opposed to the DD phase (or later) and coupling that with a collaborative, model driven, and integrated project delivery process. It will explore the benefits of early involvement beyond just the steel detailer. We will look at the added value that the structural steel fabricator brings to a project through early involvement.
